Bailey House is proud to celebrate two major victories in the fight against the spread of HIV/AIDS.
President Obama has signed into law the reauthorization of the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Extension Act for another 4 years. This will ensure approximately 500,000 individuals living with HIV/AIDS will continue to have access to medicine and care through programs that maintain their treatment regimens. President Obama has also announced he will overturn a 22 year old travel and immigration ban against people with HIV, allowing foreign nationals to travel freely to the US.
These two milestones bring us closer to removing the stigma and discrimination associated with HIV/AIDS. Bailey House salutes those who have worked tirelessly to ensure HIV/AIDS legislation is up to date and effective.
