Consolidating our headquarters and community services in East Harlem has been hectic and full of surprises, but it has been worth it! There is no other place where that is more evident than in our new, bigger food pantry. With our enhanced space, we now have aisles stocked with nourishing canned goods, bins filled with pasta and grits, and a helpful staff ready to serve.
When our clients and eligible community members come to our pantry, they are greeted by the friendly face of Outreach Worker, Ricky Gonzalez. Ricky, whose hard work and dedication was instrumental in the expansion of the food pantry, makes sure all pantry bags have enough food to make 9 well balanced, nutritious meals during the week. When you consider we pass out nearly 600 bags a month, we are able to provide the community with 64,800 meals a year. We are not stopping there. With the help of Bailey House supporters, the food pantry will continue to grow and ensure our community is receiving the healthy foods it needs.
The food pantry is open Wednesdays and Fridays from 12:00pm to 1:30pm. If you would like more information about how to receive a weekly food pantry bag, please contact Ricky Gonzalez at 212-633-2500 ext 308.
