Bailey House clients and staff walk the hallways of Washington.

Bailey House staff and clients, led by COO Hans Desnoyers, and hundreds of AIDS advocates from throughout the country descended upon Washington, DC April 27th-29th to unite their voices during the 17th annual AIDS Watch. This year AIDS Watch 2009 is calling for a national AIDS strategy that among other things, promotes an evidence-based approach to HIV/AIDS prevention and moves away from the rhetoric and policies that have proven to be ineffective in stopping the epidemic.

With strong and vibrant voices, members of Bailey House met with representatives on Capitol Hill to advocate for a solid federal commitment to AIDS housing programs. As the first to recognize housing as prevention against the spread of HIV/AIDS, Bailey House has worked tirelessly to educate policy makers on the correlation between housing status and HIV prevention and care.

Thank you to all the staff and clients of Bailey House who turned out to participate in AIDS Watch 2009.
