On Sunday, June 28th, the Bailey House float made its way down 5th Avenue past thousands of LGBT supporters who turned out for New York City’s annual Gay Pride Parade. This year’s parade was especially poignant because it marked the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, which is widely hailed as the beginning of the modern Gay civil rights movement. The Gay Pride Parade has been a platform for members of the LGBT community to unite their voices and Bailey House is honored to be a part of this tradition.
The energy and enthusiasm of our friends who joined us on our float made the event one to remember. We thank all of those who put on their sneakers and walked, waved and danced with us down the parade route, with a special thanks to 92.3 NOW DJ Lefty Hernandez who provided the music mix that got the whole crowd moving!
