Hurricane Sandy Floods Bailey-Holt House

Posted on 10/30/2012 at 2:09 pm

Bailey-Holt House, our residence in lower Manhattan on Christopher Street (right across the street from the Hudson River), is in the middle of a flood zone from Hurricane Sandy.  We need your help to repair the damage. The Bailey-Holt House Emergency Fund has been created to finance the repairs needed in the wake of the storm.

Bailey-Holt House was badly flooded last night when the worst of the storm hit. The lower floors are under several feet of water. Many of the 44 residents living in Bailey-Holt were evacuated. Some of our most medically fragile clients were taken to Mount Sinai Medical Center, to ensure that critical medical services like daily dialysis were not interrupted.

The situation is under control, but we need your support to repair the extensive damage that has been done to this landmark residential facility. All donations will go directly to the Bailey-Holt House Emergency Fund to finance repairs. These are your neighbors and our friends and clients – Bailey-Holt House needs you now.

Please donate now to the Emergency Fund. Help Bailey-Holt House recover from Hurricane Sandy. Help our clients return safely to their home. Every donation makes a difference. Your generosity in the wake of this disaster means the world to Bailey House, and we are profoundly grateful for any assistance you can offer.
