    New Program Houses Young Families

    Bailey House has long been providing housing for formerly homeless families.
    According to New York City’s Department of Homeless Services, roughly 70 percent of city shelter residents are families with children, and the vast majority of those are headed by single mothers. As recently as December of 2019, the agency also reported that a total of 21,683 children of all ages slept in a city shelter.
